i used my student loan as a deposit to buy a flat when i was 18that's how i paid for my law degree and supported myself in london for 2 years whilst studying. ok i wouldn't be living where i do now without my dad, but if he hadn't bought that flat, as a direct consequence of the law degree, i'd still be able to afford somewhere nice, without help.
