WINDY PIG IN THE HOUSE!
youtu.be/N_sniIPJO8g

I made some quite inappropriate comments at my own mothers funeral as I wasn't dealing with it well and defaulted to dick head teenager mode.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:23, 4 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
Right, well, I'll go.

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:30, Reply)
Oi oi WP.
All good?

All teenagers are dickheads at the best of times.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:31, Reply)
I am all good.
Having a chilled evening.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:32, Reply)
I'm having a chili evening. Curry & in particular reminding myself how much I love scotch bonnets.

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:41, Reply)

I don't get enough spicy food at home, lady pig is a fucking wuss

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:43, Reply)
Time for you to do the cooking eh? You can always separate the final dish in half before adding additional spice and or heat to your taste.

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 22:02, Reply)
I ought to, but I'm way too lazy.

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 22:05, Reply)
Alright Windy Pig
I sampled Jurrasic 5 'Jayou' on a drum and bass track I had pressed onto 'dub plates' in about 1998. It was played on Radio 1. It was the beginning of the big time.
Now I sell heating parts.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:35, Reply)
I really really like J5
Which heating parts do you sell?
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:37, Reply)
Boiler spares, bit of everything, but I'm setting up the commercial side at the moment.

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:40, Reply)
Sounds alright.
Did you DJ a lot back in the day? Any good stories?
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:42, Reply)
A fair bit when I was 17-18.
Don't remember much of it due to various substances, the nights all blur into one. It was a decadent time on the old 'skirt chasing' front though.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:45, Reply)
Sounds good,
I'm a little younger than you, cut my teeth on the psytrance scene, never did get to DJ anywhere cool, but god the drugs were good.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:50, Reply)
I sort of grew out of it.
I did music technology at college, did a bit of studio recording type stuff then had to get a real job, and have been buying, selling and specifying plumbing and heating stuff ever since.
There you go, my career in a nutshell.
Obviously I also did the candy floss stall too.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:53, Reply)
Almost all of my friends have done some sort of music stuff,
Only 1 got to do anything cool. He's a sound engineer at ronnie Scott's. I get the feeling that most of us get the memories but not the glory.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 22:03, Reply)
I think the memories are good enough.
To make a career out of anything like that, especially djing, runs the risk of ending up being a bit too old to be 'cool' and looking like a knob trying to be 'young and hip' and becoming a bit of a joke. See tim Westwood.

David rodigan?

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 22:07, Reply)
Which DJs did you get played by?
DnB back then was a notoriously hard scene to get into.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:39, Reply)
Oh, so you reply to your DJ mate, but not even a hello to your old mate WP.

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:41, Reply)

(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:42, Reply)
Who's this Ken you're always banging on about?
Is he related to al and Wilf and Rory and quentin and frank?
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:50, Reply)
Radio personality Ken Bruce.
He posts on here as a satirical 'comedy' account, playing the role of a bitter and failure-wracked autist from Milton Keynes.

Clickin dis
For the use of the word 'autist'
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:53, Reply)
If you look at the Guardian jobs section you'll see a charity is recruiting for an 'Autism Director'.
Imagine the detailed selection criteria for that role...

Fabio and grooverider played it on the radio.
I gave a copy to Zinc and Roni Size. Don't think they played it out anywhere though. Also Simon 'bassline' smith played at at something in Hastings I was at. I worked in a record shop in my teens, and they ran a couple of drum and bass nights at local clubs, but got some big names down so it was easy to meet people. I used to do the warm up set sometimes.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:43, Reply)
F&G playing it is a big deal.
Fairly different style to Zinc & Roni Size though.

Mad props for mixing DnB though, I can never get my head around the breaks.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:46, Reply)
Yeah, they had a section on their show where they'd play unheard of stuff.
I was made up. Got it on cassette somewhere.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:48, Reply)
One of my mates makes techno & acid.
He went to see Dave Clark in Leeds a while back and Dave Clark played one of his tracks.

That was 'quite a good feeling'.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:50, Reply)
It's like being famous for a few minutes.
Then receiving no recognition or money. Ever.
(, Mon 16 Sep 2013, 21:55, Reply)
hey WP I love what you've done with your hair.
