Indeedwhich is why you turn DHCP off before connecting it to the network, or it will proper bugger things up.
You might get away with a proper wireless access point (extender) rather than a router, though, bit more expensive but more designed for the job.

Which is why we don't allow students with no knowledge of DHCP to connect their shit to the network.(
