My holiday with a difference
I'm in the process of planning my holiday for this year and I need your help. I'm going to buy a 7-day All Line Rover ticket and travel around Great Britain taking photographs of stuff.

Most of these will be pictures that can be put on Wikipedia, and will more than likely be made up mainly of trains, stations, and stuff within walking distance of stations.

I'm inviting requests and suggestions, either as replies to this post or at my talk page on Wikipedia.

If you are coming to Scotland
Then I would recommend the line that runs from Fort William to Glasgow.

Amazing views of the Nevis range and the mountains down from there.

Aberystwyth by train from Birmingham, its great once you get near the coast.

The train
along the South coast to Cornwall. I went to Par (which amuses me as a name for some reason), then onto St Austell.

There are some truly stunning views as you travel along next to the coast, with cliffs to your right and the sea to your left. Beautiful.

Just don't then go onto Newquay... really.

Ha!
I grew up in a little village called Tywardreath, which is right next to Par (Par means harbour in Cornish).

Gunther's right about two things.
Firstly, the train trip to Cornwall is lovely - the train runs right along next to the sea just after it goes through Exeter and when it's stormy, the sea hits the train.
Secondly, never go to Newquay. It's a shithole.

Erm, if you're in London, the Docklands Light Railway is fun! Driverless trains, good views of the docks etc.
