I don't really understand what a union is, but in my mind it's all a bit 'Socialist Worker' and Communist.
Just seems like a club for people who are all upset about having to work for a living.
Alt: I like footwear but not obsessively so. I see a pair of trainers I like and buy them. But I wouldn't buy hundreds of pairs to be kept in boxes, but I suppose it's just a kind of hobby?
Altalt: No breakfast today because I had FIVE high end sausages and mash while out last night washed down with something called 'lager'.

It's the "we deserve more" attitude I don't get. The economy is struggling, everyone is facing a bit of a pinch, why should you be so special?

I have only worked for small independent companies in the last decade, so having any sort of 'union' would have been out of the question.
If I stopped working because I wanted more money I'd just get the boot.

You are looking at it from the wrong perspective.
It's this race to the bottom politics that is pushing more and more people below the poverty line.
Why are there families queuing at food banks in this country? That ain't right.
