I have actually just looked at one article and gone 'WHAT?! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!' like Barnard Black in 'Black Books'.

Someone here is obsessed with abbreviations and 'short codes' for things.
I'm not sure if they do it to make them look important or to save time.

It certainly doesn't do the latter because I just look fed up and go 'what does that mean' at absolutely everything.

I'm supposed to be writing about some teaching I did on the ward and 'critically analysing' it.
Yesterday's tutorial said 'well you might want to say you took a *fancy term here* approach to it, briefly describe it and then say what's good about it and what's bad about it using appropriate references'.

Trouble is, all the theory and textbooks that I can actually understand are utter, utter, utter bollocks and don't actually bear any resemblance to the 'we're going to spend ten minutes talking about intubating someone' sit down I actually did.

My boss gets me to write up how I did things 'to help others'
But 90% of the time I've not seen the issue before either.

One of these days I'm going to have to call his bluff and save a word document with 'panicked, googled like fuck; picked the most relevant result, copied.'

It's as if all analysis, guesswork and general nous can be replaced by a .doc
