Well Steve Marriott left to form Humble Pie with Peter Frampton, so the remaining members added Rod Stewart on vocals and they shortened the name by dropping the word 'Small'. They were nowhere near as good, and when Rod went solo Ron Wood joined the Rolling Stones and that was that really.
