Update on smiling at people on the underground experiment:
19 smiled back. And one jumped off the train when I got off and ran after me to ask for my phone number.

If I smile at people
in public, everybody just assumes I'm a mong, and I get sympathy looks.

:)
I love this experiment!
Are you a girlie type or a bloke?
As a bloke I'd imagine grinning inanely at people would more likely result in some strange looks rather than a few smiles!
And did you give your number to the poor sole who left their train to talk to you? :)
(thanks to Bertsexmonkey for telling me how to reply... Dur to me!)

@seasonticketless
I am a girly type, and I did give him my number, but realised a while later that I had mixed up two of the digits, and given him the wrong number.
So, if any of you is called Nick and remembers doing this, sorry.
