as someone who has been signing on recently,
the job centre is no help to anyone. The bloke i see didn't even know minimum wage had gone up.
He didn't look at my sheet to see what i'd done to look for work, so i stopped filling it in, a huge amount of the jobs on the government website are out of date or badly organised and impossible to find.
Maybe the fact that there was actually a decent chance of me finding work he didn't spend much time with me, but still, the whole thing felt a little slap dash and bizarre.

Some sort of incentive to work is whats needed, but if everytime we try and cut benefit a whole heap of people start shouting bollocks about human rights then it'll never change. Or it will, I dunno, i'm not a politician.

It's the "not worth going to work for an extra 10 quid a week" mentality,
yes, it may seem fruitless, but if you go and work hard in a year or so you might have thousands more than you did on benefit.
