I can't think of any great victories, I brought 2 pubs back from the brink of closing down, that took a lot of work. Never really paid off as i ws working for a big company.

I was reading the other day that pubco landlords earnt 15k a year on average. Is that right?

well, not in my experience, assistants live in would get around that, but General managers live in get around 25k, live out around 35k.
