Never tried it personally but I know people who have "Eastern Bloc" stamps and got into the US with only a little more hossing than you usually face.

Only passport problems now are if you try getting in to a Middle Eastern country with an Israeli stamp in your passport, for which the passport office will give you a secondary passport for about £300.
