I can't believe I'm having to disagree with the sportscow, here.

Clerks is great. Although it helps if you watch it before you see any other film Kevin Smith made, though.

I never thought it was meant to be particulary clever
except for engineering a storyline that enabled to film almost the whole thing at night in the shop he worked in.
