Nokia "customer care" are a bunch of unhelpful muppets.

Good Afternoon,

I am unhappy with the service from the traffic reports for Maps.

I have the latest firmware, the latest Maps and a very recent subscription to the RTTI facility.

The problem is:

I can start Maps, plan routes, search for POIs and places, no issue, but as soon as I update the traffic reports, whether on WiFi or GSM/3G, the Maps application closes instantly, or the phone locks up.

Is there a known fix, or will I get my money back?

They wrote back saying

"Dear Ethelred,

Thank you for contacting Nokia Care.

With regard to your email, this issue may occur when your Nokia N95 8GB is using old map data that is incompatible with the Traffic Info (real time traffic information) Service. It can be resolved by updating your map data.

To update your map data in Maps 2.0, go to "Options" "Tools" "Settings" "Map" "Options" "Check for map Updates" (this is only possible if you have allowed the mobile internet connection in Maps 2.0).
If there is a new release of map data, the application will prompt you to delete the preloaded map data.

If the map data is updated, the application will display "Your current maps are up-to-date". "

Sorry if I need to explain what I've done *TWICE*, let alone what phone I have.

*grrs*
