I'm sure those affected aren't just on the flood planes. But yeah, same as people crying about earthquakes and tornados when they move to areas prone to it etc.

It's like moving to the Sahara and then compaining about the heat and sandAs to the coastal issues - I have more sympathy. Coastal defences should be better, they should be maintained and reviewed as to effectiveness regularly and properly financed.
