TGB's Monday Morning Moment
After feeling quite smug about remembering how to use a manual choke on my Marina, remembering that opening the petrol cap is more complex than cracking a safe, remembering you have to put the petrol in sloowwwlly because of the angle of the pipe, remembering the indicators are on the other side and that reverse is lift and down and having a jolly drive to the garage to get her tuned up and waving at the guy in the Austin 7 - imagine how utterly stupid I felt when I got to the end of the half mile road from the garage and had to phone up the nice mechanic to ask him to turn the lights off because I forgot.
Feel free to make me feel better by posting your stupid moments :)

I forgot to say happy birthday to my girlfriend this morning
it's ok though, because she forgot too :-)

I went out into my friend's garden yesterday
to clear up the carnage from the previous evening's drinking. I walked towards the apple tree and though "gosh, that's a low hanging branch". I then proceeded to walk straight into it.
I also blew out a candle on Friday with such gusto that I splattered my face with wax and glued my eyelashes together.

I was acting in a film over the weekend
And I had to pick up a half-smoked cigarette from an ashtray, then light it, close-up shot.
Lighter flame was set too high and I singed my eyelashes.

That sounds painful :( Did you loose many eyelashes?
@Kaol
Was this the gravedigging thing? Where are the photos so I can mock your efforts :p

Oh manual chokes
My first car had one of those. Is it fully manual? i.e you have to remember to put it back in as well?

Yup fully manual
If you forget to put it in it floods and stalls :( It is running way too rich at the moment though and only needs a tiny bit of choke to start if it's cold. Taking it to the isle of wight this weekend though so thought I should get it tuned up so it does more than the 12mpg it was doing...
And Kaol that's what I said.... *whistles*

Which is why I wasn't driving it much when petrol toped 120ppl
It should do about 20mpg when it's tuned...

Luckily I was drunk enough that I didn't really feel it. It was only when I tried to open my eye the next day that I couldn't work out why it was all sticky (insert your own joke here, Kaol...)
And where it had got on my face, the skin was all nice and smooth when I peeled it off. I might market it as a really expensive face treatment for gullible ladies in Chelsea.

Rakky... Me?
How could you think such a thing?
I'm a paragon of politeness, a crusader against crudeness.

You had me confused with some low-minded beast like Al or Burt.

Candles and alcohol - was it a birthday candle?
Should I send belated birthday wishes and requests for cake!

It was outdoor candles what light up the outdoors so you can sit in nice back gardens and drink fizzy wine at night. Not the smaller birthday type. That's why there was so much wax...
But people can buy me presents anyway though... :)

Hmm that makes more sense...
You can have a present of an outdoor candle if you like....
