Ol pistolsI think her probably did it on purpose but will get away with it due to the evidence. Had the prosecution gone for unlawful death they would have it bagged by now but as they went for premeditated murder they could struggle.
the missing plane thing is probably pilot related.
Conspiracies of course they exist but I would think less often than people want them to. Most of the time the simple explanation is correct.
