Treat a dependency all you like, fix the person, sure.But they got dependent as a result of their own actions. It's their own fault. Everybody chooses how they're going to respond to bad periods. Burying your head in a bottle to try to avoid dealing with them makes that person weak.

I don't really see a situation in which turning to drink is anybody's fault other than your own.However, I'm not placing blame so much as not having any sympathy.
