I'm taking my mum to London for some post Mother's Day shopping and theatre
Is the Portobello Road area much cop?

I'll take it as read that you'll all be taking my mum in a variety of hilarious other ways

I will take your mother, Dorothy Clay (if indeed that is her real name)
out for a delicious seafood dinner and then never call her again

She is rather partial to seafood

depends what sort of theatre and shopping you like
if you like it mainstream, do west end and covent garden

if you like it a bit more fancy/new, do royal court and kings road

if you like to keep it real, do shepherds bush and westfield

if you like it interesting, do national or one of the vics and southbank

Yeah, when I say theatre I mean she wanted to see We Will Rock You before it closes
I got front row seats too :((((

There's a spice shop and old cinema on Portobello I want to check out so I wanted to make sure it'd be worth the trip out there.

I meant to have a wander around southbank last year at the BFI and check out a banksy-style graffiti tunnel or sutin but I ended up getting too drunk in Whitchapel and didn't make it

portobello is cool, but there's not really anything there that you'd actually want to BUY
you get a bit sick of novelty and antique shops after a while. it's well worth wandering around though, v pretty.

we will rock you backs onto soho, that could be an interesting wander around with your mum...
