but you can pick up lenses from old film cameras pretty cheaply.

Depends, some of them will.
It all hangs on what type of lens mount your camera has and how long they've been making it. My Pentax uses the same mount as they've used since the 60s, so loads of the old lenses still fit. Worth looking into.

I just remembered I dreamt I bought a camera, very reasonably priced too. It was a Nikon D60, dunno if that's real or not.
