Speaking as someone who was 21 aaaaaages agoI found that at the time, most of the people I considered friends were just causal friends from Uni who I mostly went out drinking and clubbing with. Over the years, I've lost touch with the casual friends I had back then but still keep in touch with the closer friends.
Being 21 is a blast, but once you get older, your freinds will be fewer but your friendships will be deeper. I'm still good friends with some guys I knew from back when I was 12 and we still go on holiday together.
