To re-cap, I'm still waiting for a response from my third company. They e-mailed me yesterday to say they couldn't contact my second reference on my CV. At least if they're contacting references, I must have done something good. They also told me they successfully got a reply from my first reference.

Meanwhile, I did not have time to write the story I wanted to write for this QOTW, so instead, here's a sub-plot of the story, and here's a similar story.
