Is Polenta supposed to taste of pretty much nothing?There's 3/4 of a bag of parmazam, 2 big spoons of butter, an egg yolk, salt'n'peper in there, and it tastes of nothing (boiled for 40 minutes, 4 cups of water to 1 cup of polenta).
If this was mashed potatoes, the stuff I added would make it lush and rich.

nah ... tastes of nowtunless it's quick cook stuff it needs cooking a lot longer than that too ... it's more is an exercise than a foodstuff
It's OK if you fry it the next day.
