trouble with the new reply thing isthat if you are trying to carry on several conversations at once you have to write a number of replies, instead of lumping it all into one at the bottom and leaving it for the reader to decipher.

Well, if everyone goes back to doing itThe "normal way" I think I might have to carry on with the new way, out of spite.
