Good Evening
Work tomorrow.

Hahaha!

(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 20:57, 190 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Hey Kaol
Work will be a welcome release after this weekend.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:05, Reply)
Damn,
That bad?
I had an awesome weekend!
I was drinking from Friday lunchtime 'til about two this morning, when I passed out in Clendrix's lounge.
Then today I went to an exhibition about skeletons, and then to a pub with some mates.
This weekend was all kinds of win.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:10, Reply)
Just found out
What a monumental cunt my ex has been. Glad I know now though.

On the plus I'm meeting BGB, Davros G, Tourettes and Teh Loon next Saturday so really looking forward to that!
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:21, Reply)
That's rubbish
(About the ex, I mean)
Sorry to hear that.

Have fun meeting those folk though!
I'm going to see Scars On Broadway on Thursday, looking forward to that.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:23, Reply)
Evening all
Not for I it isn't - Last day of my 3 week holiday tomorrow and then back to the coal face.

I trust all is well?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:20, Reply)
*nods*
All is well.
I like the new reply system, very good.

And I've had an excellent weekend, so, yeah, the horror of work tomorrow is dulled somewhat.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:22, Reply)
Ha! Not for me!
I'm unemployed.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:23, Reply)
*shakes fist*
Lucky sod!

Wanna work for me?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:23, Reply)
Alright.
But only if by work you mean fist, and by for me you mean your Mum's cat.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:24, Reply)
My mum doesn't have a cat...
Oh.

Anyway, I need a fluffer.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:25, Reply)
Fluffer, eh?
I've got plenty of experience, but may I ask for whom I will be fluffing you?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:28, Reply)
Well...
I'm not going to beat around in the bush.

Not every man can fluff a Great Dane, it takes skill and stamina.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:30, Reply)
I see
I had assumed that it would be you that I was fluffing.

I've done things to a Boxer dog before, I could move up to a Great Dane quite happily.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:31, Reply)
No...
I don't want to be fluffed.
Well...
You're not my type, sorry.

Also, you've never done things to a Boxer, the Boxer fucked you to pieces.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:34, Reply)
Yeah
but she was a bitch?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:44, Reply)
@ Kaol
She's been unbelievably manipulative. Got back with her ex while still carrying on with me. Better off out of it.
Her best mate is one of my best mates, and we;re both out for my friend's birthday in a couple of weeks. Torn between being the big man and being nice as pie, or just destrying the lass in front of everyone.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:31, Reply)
Be the big man BK.
And wallow in the satisfaction that you didn't let her actions affect you.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:38, Reply)
Noooooooooo
Evil reply system!!

*pokes Kaol with a knife on a stick*
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:32, Reply)
I like it
It's fantastic.
But then again, I am by far the most intelligent person on here.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:33, Reply)
Sunday night.
I hate Sunday night. And still four days until the next bash.

Hey BK, are you talking about your most recent ex?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:35, Reply)
But...
If Sunday night is the price you've gotta pay for a Saturday night with me, surely it's worth it?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:36, Reply)
Hmmm...
not entirely sure about that. Besides hating Sunday night is directly linked to Monday morning rather than Saturday evening (unless the Saturday evening in question was paticularly depraved, which in this case it wasn't).
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:39, Reply)
Fair point...
I made the mistake of going to the pub shortly after getting to Euston from yours...
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:41, Reply)
I can't keep up with it
I am quite stupid though.

Just watched the Wrong Door and a guy was called Robert Goatsie *giggles*
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:38, Reply)
I saw that and it made me chuckle too!
Last weeks episode pissed me off a lot though, there was something about the irony of the giant robot tearing apart London as it searched for it lost it's keys while I had no idea where mine were and tore apart my flat that got right on my tits.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:40, Reply)
It's easy, just reply to the post that you're talking about.
Robert Goatsie... *shakes head*

That's Burt's real name.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:40, Reply)
The wrong door/Bob Goatsie
That's surely far too many references to a trip up muddy lane than is good for one show?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:44, Reply)
I really
don't like this reply system.
It's confusing
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:39, Reply)
I still don't like this reply system.
And I'll never get used to it. I'm old and don't like change.

*stamps feet like a petulant child*

We can't all talk together because the conversations keep fragmenting.

It's the end of us....doom and glooooooom!
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:40, Reply)
I think that it's alright

Is b3ta being funny for anyone else right now? Half the stuff I typed for this message disappeared?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:43, Reply)
If you delete a reply
With replies after it, they get deleted too.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:45, Reply)
I know
I think that the problem may have been that I tried to draw an arrow, I was saying that it's alright until there are too many consecutive replies and you have to scroll to the right.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:47, Reply)
What I don't like about the reply system
is that there are now conversations going on all over the place and we set up 'home sweet home' to combat that.
*sees OT getting cliquey already*
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:41, Reply)
I don't want to be in a clique.
I want to be friends with everyone.

Apart from nasty /talk.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:43, Reply)
I appear to be suffering from Asperger's
coz I don't like the new reply system either.

Evenin' folks.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:41, Reply)
I thought you
Did have Asperger's.
My mistake.

Sorry...
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:42, Reply)
BK
I asked you a question up there, but I think it got missed - is the ex you're talking about your most recent ex?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:42, Reply)
trouble with the new reply thing is
that if you are trying to carry on several conversations at once you have to write a number of replies, instead of lumping it all into one at the bottom and leaving it for the reader to decipher.

I can't say I like it
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:43, Reply)
Well, if everyone goes back to doing it
The "normal way" I think I might have to carry on with the new way, out of spite.

I have no idea why, the Voices are telling me that.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:44, Reply)
*cries*
It's too confusing I keep missing all the replies in replies in replies
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:43, Reply)
We could always head to the bunker.
It's safe there.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:45, Reply)
Yeh
I can see me being here a lot less because I just don't have the time to dick around wading through replies.

Might not be a bad thing though. Might get some work done!
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:46, Reply)
Hmmm...
Well maybe it'll settle down?
At least there's the option to use the "old way" still.

P.S. You're welcome to join my clique if you desire :p
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:47, Reply)
@Clendrix
Might have to go on Facebook more often.

*shudders*
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:47, Reply)
I also don't fancy the prospect of scrolling around for replies
but on the other hand, you can now click "I like this" on replies (not sure what good that does).
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:48, Reply)
Kaol: contrariness for it's own sake is fine
but as Clendrix says (I think it was Clendrix, the new replies have confused me) I don't have the time to be wading through the entire page for new stuff in a conversation I want to follow and that may well put me off, which would be a shame.

Everything new being at the bottom makes all of the sense to me.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:48, Reply)
Another for I don't like this
but maybe it's an inbetweener stage for something great?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:51, Reply)
Becky! Hello!
How's it going? I never did thank you for your lovely Bert Monkeysex photo story, or reply to your text, sorry about that.

How was your date the other night then, eh, eh?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:52, Reply)
That's because you're made of rubbish Bert
But I forgive you as you're Monsieur Sexmonkey extraordinaire.

Date was good thanks :)

I loikes that.
I just hope that nobody recycles me, I don't care if I am bad for the environment.

We could always start a thread for those who do not wish to use the new system.
Only we would get some buggers joining us who start to use the new system and bollox it all up.

(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:54, Reply)
I have a confession to make...
As King Of Off Topic, Rob asked me if it was ok to switch over to this format.
And I agreed.
Sorry if you don't like it, but it's for your own good!
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 21:56, Reply)
Well I don't.
You've ruined it for me.

And I get the irony in me using the system to tell you this

Oh you cunt.
I hope that you catch syphilis from one of your victims.

Just kidding! I hope it's AIDs.

Haha!
I'm slightly scared if I get a post-count...
I do post A LOT.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 22:09, Reply)
I don't post as much as I used to
when I didn't have a job, but it's useful for when you visit other boards and aren't told to fuck off right away as they assume you're a lurker.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 22:16, Reply)
Is it just me
or does anyone else get the impression that Al, Bert and Kaol are in fact spies from /talk who have done a good job of hiding their secret identities, but got too excited by the new talk-esque style of the QOTW board and are finding it hard to contain their true identities?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 22:29, Reply)
Not at al, Spakka
We were like this way back when replies to QOTW were invented, I've just missed these guys, that's all.

Perhaps things will get back to normal once Bert gets used to being reunited with his beloved AlKaol.

But I do like the AlBertKaol-ness, it's the new reply format that's doing my head in.

They seem to have disappeared.
Fancy getting up to some Bert-spakkaman-ness?

Changing the subject to music, have you heard the new Slipknot and Metallica albums?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 22:59, Reply)
Yes, I have
And they're both a bit rubbish.

Evening all.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 23:02, Reply)
I have heard bits of one song from each

@ Kaol
Heard the new Metallica and Slipknot singles. Wasn't that impressed.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 23:03, Reply)
See, I'd say
That the new Slipknot album has a few decent tracks.
The filler isn't heavy enough though, which is no good at all.

New Metallica, not sure yet.
It's sitting on my desk here, but I'm not in the mood for disappointment tonight, so I'll listen at work tomorrow.
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 23:07, Reply)

Haven't bothered with anything since Reload. Don't think Metallica are relevant, certainly to what I'm into, anymore.

I've just tried to
read the HSH thread and it is far too confusing.

It's just talk now full of people being rude to each other.

It used to be so friendly here.

Don't fret Mrs!
All of the animosity on this page is purely fake!

EDIT shall we defy the mods and just go back to the old ways?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 23:16, Reply)
You're right.
It's more for decoration and celebration.

TGB was telling me last night
that I needed to come and visit all you lovely people in offtopic.

But what happens? I peer inside and it's just /talk in disguise now. It's giving me teh fear.

Seriously though, not being a /talk deity, I'm not clever enough to keep track of all these threads.

Can we get 'them'
To put it back?

*edit* This is the problem Rubberduck, it wasn't /talk before.

It's not that I'm anti change
it's just that we didn't need this change.

I tend to leave my computer on the HSH thread and 'apple+r' every so often to see what has been added. I don't want to have to scroll halfway up the page to see a comment I may have missed

How to make friends and influence people...
Now, some of you know I moved house last week.

I've just managed to get the last of the boxes unpacked, and decided to celebrate by putting my feet up and listening to some damn loud music while looking at b3ta on my laptop.

Now, I'm not a completely antisocial bastard, so with it being after 11pm I pulled my magnificent headphones out, put them on and hit 'play'.

After a good 15 minutes, I discovered why my headphones were sounding particularly magnificent. It was only after I noticed the pictures shaking on the wall that I realised I'd forgotten to switch the speakers off.

I'm hiding from the neighbours now.

Would you mind mentioning this concept of headphones to the bloke who lives nextdoor to me?
(, Sun 14 Sep 2008, 23:32, Reply)
I'm actually slightly more concerned
that they now know my bizarre taste in music :)

@TGB - That's not such a bad idea. Knowing my luck they're probably militant teetotalers or something, or recovering alcoholics on cold turkey.

@Mrs L - They probably did. I wouldn't have heard them though :)

On Friday night
I stayed with a mate, and we ended up playing Mario Kart on the N64, with one of his housemates, Jim.

Now Jim got very, very angry as he was clearly worse tahn me at the game, and the "friendly banter" got louder and louder.

The other housemate, Jill, had only lived there for a week, and it was the first night that her boyfriend had stayed there.

They were kept awake 'til four my Jim screaming "Kaol, you CUNT, why do you keep beating me?".
We were not popular the next morning.

Hmmm...
In other news, Wookiee and I have named a drink after you.

Do go on
I am intrigued. And honoured. Should I be honoured?

Is the drink Slough based? I suspect that was the extent of Wookie's involvement.

It's not as cool as that
He was looking for a name for the unholy (but, I'm reliably informed, nice) combination of Pimms and Relentless.

I suggested "SuperWeasel", as it's brown and it'll give you a burst of energy.

Ah well, I'm sure it'd be better with vodka in too...

Right
I go away for a day, and this just appears to have gone to hell, possibly in a handbasket.

I read it all, now my brain hates me, as do my eyes.

I want it back, or I may not be here much from now on.

Are we well?

*shrugs*
Interestingly, the new format was the first thing that Clendrix said to me after I'd woken up this morning.
Apart from "Morning", obviously.

So, I was thinking about it all day.

Actually, that's a lie. I was thinking about alcohol most of today. And skeletons.
