OitPNo, you're thinking of the Kaol exhibition.
The Ripper one has all the police reports and letters and evidence. Looks good but costs money.

Maybe the British Museum or the Portrait Gallery.
Edit - Kaol - It's at docklands and runs until 5th Nov.
