can be made to heave at anything, it's great entertainment. she once retched at the mere sight of a guy with a beard. between the flailing hands and the choking back of sick, all she could say was, " look at that beard." retch, heave, retch. "imagine if you had to EAT that beard."

turned out she was thinking of that horrid bit in "the twits" when dahl describes mr twit as having all that food in his beard, and how if he got hungry, he only had to run his tongue around it to retrieve some egg or a cornflake or... shit, now i'm retching.
