A bizarre clashof my obviously more geeky traits and a daytime TV ad featuring a wizened old husk of a Thora Hird lookey-likey whizzing around the lounge in a remote controlled armchair. Probably looking for her specs, the People's Friend and bumping into things.
"Fuck me, she looks like Davros' Granny in that thing" I thought.
Why it came back to haunt me as I was thinking of a username I don't know, but it's stuck*, and I quite like being called DG around the house now. Tourette's has even changed my entry on her mobile phone to that.
*EDIT Obviously I'm a bloke so Davros' Granny would be silly...
