Toshiba
Or maybe HP. Can't go far wrong.
If you give me a budget I'll look one up for you (I am VERY bored at work....!)
Assume it'll just be used for Facebook, listening to music etc?
Edit: in reply to Vipros, I've had nothing but trouble with Acer. Made the mistake of buying a few of their screens for work as they were cheap, about 40% were DOA and nearly half the rest broke in the first few months! All their stuff seems really plasticky and poorly made.
My sister went through three Acer laptops before settling on a Toshiba, which has lasted longer than the three Acers put together.
YMMV
(note: I'm back in my old job now and am responsible for buying £10-12k of IT equipment a month, so I like to think I know what I'm on about. I'm a great believer in the saying 'buy once, cry once' - i.e. don't buy the cheapest one, it will cost you more in the long run!)
