Indeed you shall LabOk the results of the toastie experiment are in.
Putting mccoys in before cooking: not good, they went all soft, and the whole toastie tasted a bit rubbish.
Putting mccoys in after cooking: awesome. You get a nice bit of bite in the middle of the toastie, and still get some of the flavour of the crisps as well as the cheese and ham.
