National Novel Writing Month
www.nanowrimo.org/

I don't know if any of youse chaps are aware of this, but November is National Novel Writing Month! The idea is to register with the above website and produce 50,000 words between November the first and thirtieth.

The idea isn't to create a polished piece, just to get writing and increase your volume of work. I thought some people here might be interested.

This will be my 4th year
And I get less done everytime.

I finished in 2005, did about 38,000 in 06, and 32,000 last year.

Every year I mean to do this
and every year I don't. Arse, I have a text book to finish. And when I say 'finish' I mean 'start'. Maybe I could do both.

I have a friend
who nearly killed himself doing the Three Day Novel Contest this year.

At the end of it I'm not sure if he had a
novel: nov-el noun 1. a fictitious prose narrative of considerable length and complexity, portraying characters and usually presenting a sequential organization of action and scenes

... or a novel: [ˈnovəl] adjective 1. new and strange

Actually
I've been thinking about writing a novel for years.

I'n think of writing a series of novels all entitled:

On The Piss In xxxxxxxxxx

The first one will be Amsterdam. I intend to use a mix of personal experience, stories nicked and adapted from B3ta and some plain old made-up stuff.

So who thinks I should enter?

Cheers

Oh dear
I've just signed up.

What am I going to do now?

Well, I need a good kick up the arse. I've kind of started already, but have been far too lax with myself. Will let you know how it's going if I manage to find any spare time.

I did it a couple of years back
I wrote around 5,000 words - being told I had to write a huge amount meant I stopped writing.
