Sounds like everyday business language to me!I'm in a department of two so we don't have any real meetings (both a blessing and a curse, meetings are boring but you get sandwiches and don't have to do any work)
Occasionally though we lock the office door, put the phones on DND and ignore everyone for a few hours, then say 'we were having a departmental meeting' when asked what we were doing (playing Age of Empires, or watching a film)
Nobody buys us any bloody sandwiches though!
