I was an absolute rake. 28" waist, no body fat whatsoever, fairly fit due to a lot of walking - probably 2 - 3 miles a day.
Then I hit 25 and the weight just sort of flubbed onto me, probably due to several years in a job that involved me sitting on my arse all day and not taking a lot of exercise. I now fluctuate between a 34 - 36" waist. I did start to go to the gym 3 times a week once I hit 30, for a good 2 - 3 years, but then a combination of fucking my achilles tendon and my dissertation conspired against me and I haven't been back.
Agree that stress is a good way to lose weight, as I lost about a stone when I split with the ex wife - the appetite suppressing qualities of Prozac helped on that scoire though. It soon piled on again when my social life life coincided with takeaway pizza.
However, I don't like to think that I'm grossly overweight or anything - I prefer the term 'relaxed'.
