Isn't itjust to do with the fact that Grinderman are a smaller band? He's also toured just as Nick Cave with pretty much the Grinderman lineup I think. Agreed DLD does sound more like Grinderman than the last Bad Seeds album.
They're also featured on the new Seasick Steve album although I haven't heard that, should be well good! And apparently working on a new Grinderman album...
He's so prolific it's unreal. Apparently he has an office (as in separate from his house) and he just goes there 9-5 every day, 5 days a week, and writes!
