I don't think it'll be too hard to convince her she should quit if you can call it quitting when you've only been smoking 3 weeks. It only took a couple of very simple points (it'll cost you loads of money, you don't need to smoke to go outside with your friends when they're smoking) that she had no answer to for her to start getting pretty sheepish about the whole thing.

She's still rebelling against my parents at the moment but looks up to me so I feel I ought to get involved again.

My Mum's "sex talk" with her, so I'm told, amounted to "you can't have sex with him, you're not old enough and you'll get in trouble". Great work Mum, deny that she's going to have sex, that way you wont have to feel guilty about not giving her any useful advice. *sighs*
