@SamIt certainly goes louder and longer than you'd expect but its pretty gentle- the EL84 is not exactly a powerstation. I have been solid state for years (Electrocompaniet FTW) but this came up at a nice price and I fancied dipping my toe again. I haven't sold the other amp, nor I suspect will I.
Glad you found the PVR- I confess to giving money to Rupert Murdoch for my HD fix but the Humax looks good.
