Desparate?
This story would not really have made me laugh

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/singapore/3918516/Passengers-rescued-from-worlds-biggest-wheel.html

Until I noticed this line

"Regrettably the glass pods do not have lavatories."

Counterpointed with this line

"There are also surveillance cameras installed in every capsule for the operations team to monitor what is going on in all capsules."

I predict some "interesting" postings on U tube!

WTF!
If a wheel breaks down, there's always a backup way of moving it- unless it's something like the main bearing that's given way. Why would they need to rappel everyone off of it instead of just turning it with a backup motor?

When will you ever get a chance to do something like that again?

Oooops...
"The direction in which the Singapore Flyer rotates was changed in a late stage of its construction at considerable expense on the advise of feng shui experts who suggested that doing so would bring fortune and "energy" to the city state".

PS. Only 5 people were lowered down...
