I found myself in one today (running an errand for my boss. Although I am indeed getting married in the summer I have yet to set foot in one).
Does anyone else find Bridal Salons creepy? Empty places all shiny surfaces and mirrors. And then all those big white dresses just floating there, like the long lost ghosts of somebody else's dreams.

However, what I've seen of them in magazines and movies has convinced me that never in my lifetime will I ever cross the threshold of one.
I like your description of them. Though as a man, I'd have to say that they would be the ghosts of nightmares...

Us men go to these places to sit very quietly in the comfy chairs provided. Sooner or later the gorgeous ladies forget we are there and we will see them in their scantiness. Maybe. It takes commitment and a numb arse believe me. But once in a while, oh my stars and garters it's worth it.

Never thought of that.
...I think there's one not too far from here.

In the highly unlikely event of me getting married, I'm going to get married in Las Vegas. Dressed like Princess Zelda. Witnessing what two cousins went through when they got married (not to each other!) has made me realise that sitting down and planning a wedding is not something I wish to do.
