Becausepeople asked not to have threaded/tree view replies on here.
It is still possible if you edit the URL (hence why you see some people doing it), there's just not a 'Reply' button on every post like there is on the other boards...
As discussed in today's HSH thread, I MUCH prefer flat view forums. Tree view makes it feel like it's 1995 again, you constantly have to scroll up and down to see what's been added to what bit. One of the main reasons I steer clear of /board and /talk.
