To be honestI haven't really read many stories recently. Partly because a lot of the questions haven't really been that inspiring, and partly because I just don't seem to have time.
Personally I think there's room for the funny, outrageous, thought provoking, sad, and inspiring stories, along with the terrible puns. As long as it's well written and relevant to the question, it shouldn't matter. But some people seem to think that QOTW should be about funny stories and nothing else. Usually the people that don't post on it very often.
Maybe it was originally, but it's changed.
