This Airbus story
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7832439.stm

Truly remarkable, I'm sure you'll agree.

But it's raised a more important question: What is the plural of 'Airbus'?

I reckon it's either Airbi or Airbum.

Any better suggestions?

Well
It's probably Airbuses.

/boring

But Airbi would be the more correct of your suggestions. Airbum is not. It's singular. One Airbum, two Airba, if I remember my school Latin correctly!

the pilot
is a complete and utter genius. Remarkable feat indeed.

hero
He deserves a medal. It's very rare that a plane ditches into water and everybody gets out alive.

Well
Airbuses.

hero?
He's a hero and deserves a medal?

Bollocks, he acted entirely out of self-preservation, it was luck that no-one died.

A hero is generally someone who does something awesome by choice.

A good pilot? Yes, Hero? No

Would a hero
walk the plane twice to check noone was left on board his rapidly sinking aircraft?

Or does that just make him a good pilot?
