I am against forums with rules
because they usually turn people into arseholes: either arseholes who flout the rules on purpose or arseholes who self-righteously and indignantly lay down the law.
A couple of words in the existing FAQ on the nature of QOTW doesn't bother me so much, but I really don't see who is being harmed by the cretins who bash the keyboards with their sixth toe in their attempt at a decent story. So there's a few boring posts? So what? If people don't like it, they can a) not read it; or b) tell them.
The thing I like about b3ta is that there aren't rules and you can say anything you like. People who are complete fucktards tend not to get it and disappear after a while. People who are boring make the good stories stand out all the more amid the dross. It's only for a week each time and then it's handily condensed into a nifty little 'Best Of' digest.
It's just a place where people type some stuff.
