but fuckit someone here must be a closest knitter!
I'm an ok knitter but not yet able to make my own patterns (I tried once and it was painful yet hilarious). My friends are having a baby girl in about 6 months time and they're doing up her nursery in superhero stuffs. So. Im trying to find a pattern for making something superheroey for the baby! I have a basic jumper pattern, I just would quite like it if someone had any idea where I could find somewhere that would tell me exactly what I needed to do to knit in a superhero logo or picture or whatever.

i'm not a knitter, but i'm married to a rabid one. my wife swears by ravelry, which is kind of a facebook for knitters. you can search for patterns/projects, see who else is doing the same projects you are, and see what other people are doing with the kind of yarn you are using. you have to sign up for membership, and there's about a 4-day wait. i'm assured it's worth the wait.
edit: oh yeah, just remembered. there's also a yarn exchange.

i have done a bit of knitting, but only because i had the misfortune of attending the waldorf school (aka steiner school). took me three fucking months to knit a case for my recorder.

quite welcome. my wife says the norwegians are world-reknowned for their knitwear. they've got some fantastic sweaters. (not to mention those goofy hats). whereabouts in norge are ya? jag snacke ingen norsk, men jag var en byteselev i sverige.

hehe :D I have to concentrate a bit if I want to be reading swedish. It's not quite similar enough to norwegian to be an easy read but still!
I'm in Trondheim, middle of the country on the coast so we get all those lovely sea 'breezes'*
Knitwear is indeed good here! Needs to be ;)
