Try not to worry about it!
As long as you don't drop the laptop or spill things on it it will function exactly the same. And function is far more important than form!

The psychological effect of the first scratch is considerable as well. If you scratch it again you won't be nearly as worried. I know people who upon buying enormously expensive guitars, put a scratch up the back as soon as they take it out of the box, to save worrying about scratching it the first time when they're playing on stage.
