I'll have a look at the workshop manual for youIt might cover a mk4, it certainly has the Cougar and that was 1999 I think. I'll post you it on DVD if it has, it's the one the main dealer mechanics use and is much more comprehensive/accurate than Haynes.
Edit: Hahaha, I've replaced the heater motor on a mk1 Espace and had to take the entire dash and the steering column out, I assume the Clio's similar?
