I tried the new shortcut today that I discovered for my commute to work. Although a major improvement on route B, it's still 0.17 miles longer than route A. But even so, Route 'B*' is much less hilly than A, and also more pleasant as it passes through a river-valley park. However, when it re-joins route B, I'm once again on a busy road where I have to do battle with my arch-nemesis - the Bendy Bus of Doom. I still have an alternative option to try in which I merge it with the final part of route A instead of re-joining route B. That way, I'll have a Frankenstein-commute.
