My list of 'when I get round to it' technical jobs is ever growing too...I've just ordered an eeePC for someone at work's mum so it'll be interesting to play with it when it arrives anyway.
Re. screen sizes, I have a 17" and a 13" so I can pick and choose which one I take somewhere! The big one usually stays at home though, it's not as good apart from the screen size.
