LoonI haven't run the numbers but I'd be very very surprised if it worked out less environmentally friendly to use these, it takes a lot of energy to make paper and standard bog roll doesn't get recycled, just flushed away.
The greenest solution is clearly some sort of water spraying hose/bidet as used in quite a few other countries. Or using a composting toilet and wiping your arse with newspaper (flushing newspaper is a no no), as quite a few hippies I know do.
