It's a nice townBristol Uni has slightly too many posh cunts, but a lot of good unis are like that so I wouldn't let it put you off.
As for the city, I really like it: friendly locals, good and varied nightlife and culture in general, easy to get about, fairly cheap taxis compared to a lot of cities, close to the countryside if you want to get out for a day. And the weather seems to be usually pretty good.
I'm actually thinking of moving back there myself at the moment!
