My Valentine's Day presents from my other half arrived over the weekend.
She had bought me a globe, but there were problems with delivery, so instead she got me Watchmen (the graphic novel) and John Torode's Beef (cookbook)

if you haven't already, go out and buy both.

Am going to see Watchmen tonight in the cinema. Will I be disappointed, having recently read the book?

My review:

Has some spoilers.
Doesn't really matter, as you've read the comic. You've been warned though!

I don't think so.
Without the book, you'd possibly be baffled. There's one or two things about which the book is clear but that are only mentioned once in the film. The Keane Act isn't clearly explained in the film, for example.

in that case, my other question is
will my girlfriend enjoy it having not read the book...

a difficult one to answer as you have read the book....

Depends...
If she likes sci-fi/action/comic films, I'd say "yes".
If she's expecting a romantic light-comedy, no dice.

she likes action
;-)

she likes the odd girly film, teen comedies etc. but for the most part she is into sci-fi and action and stuff, so should be a good one.

also, she suggested we go see it tonight, so it's her fault if she doesn't like it.

Win-win,
In that case!
Hope you enjoy it!

I saw the film last week
Thought it was bloody superb. Although, I can see why it might not do so well with the general public (box office un the US not as hot as they would have liked).

I have yet to read the book as my brother has lent his copy to a friend.
