reading the university calendar for today and found this advert:
"Studies Abroad in the South Pacific Information Session. Learn how to earn UGA credit while traveling in Australia, Fiji, New Zealand or the United Kingdom this summer."
Anyone else notice the slight error there?
They also had one on university buses which said 'Visit Syndney, London, or New Zealand - 3 fascinating cities in the south Pacific!'

down under somewhere. But the UK one is harder to explain.
Oh wait - they're Americans! They don't do geography!

Neither's Syndney. That's just completely made-up. So's traveling.

Bingo! There are no geography lessons here (unless you count the ones that go "drive 5 miles due south until you see the white barn with the duck. turn left at the duck"). If you can drive across even 1 state, they give you a PhD in geography.
Fairly simple way of dealing with the whole subject I think, but it leaves us with a sense of not knowing where the fuck anything is.

You can even make your own with all your favourite people on.
*hint hint*

I can't spell very well anymore, blame it on 8 months out of education and in America. But the traveling is an authentic 'merican spelling, so I can't be blamed for that!
I'm also quite amazed that students can get credit for travelling! We barely get credit for passing exams in the UK. I saw one course over here which was on how to choose your courses, and you could get credits for it. Bit fucked up if you ask me.

"Oh, when I was in the UK I wanted to go to Yorkshire, but I only got as far as Leeds"
